Trailer Length
Cargo Capacity
The cargo weight capacity on this trailer is acceptable for weekend family excursions, including bringing along some toys.
Possibly a 1/2 ton truck, but only in specific circumstances. Singles and couples with no kids or pets can get away with some 1/2 ton trucks.
For most people, a 3/4 ton truck is the way to go. Even if a half-ton would work, 3/4 ton trucks are built for towing. They have stronger axles, stiffer suspensions, and better brakes. Possible trucks include the Ford F-250, Ram 2500, and GMC 2500.
Look inside the door frame for a sticker that lists the payload capacity. The vehicle needs to be able to carry the tongue weight of the trailer, passengers, and gear. For a driver, passenger, and gear, that means about 2,618 pounds.
