Trailer Length
Trailers over 25ft are more difficult to control. We recommend at least a 3/4 ton truck at this length. The stiffer frame and heavier weight provides better control over such a long trailer.
Cargo Capacity
The cargo weight capacity on this trailer is acceptable for weekend family excursions, including bringing along some toys.
This trailer is within specs for many half ton trucks, but make sure the the payload capacity is sufficient.
Even if a half-ton would work, 3/4 ton trucks are built for towing. At this trailer size, its good idea to move up to a bigger truck like a Ford F-250, Ram 2500, or GMC Sierra HD.
Look inside the door frame for a sticker that lists the payload capacity. The vehicle needs to be able to carry the tongue weight of the trailer, passengers, and gear. For a driver, passenger, and gear, that means about 1,368 pounds.
