Trailer Length
Trailers over 20ft are best pulled by a truck, or at least an SUV with a truck frame. Most SUVs have a car-style frame and lack the weight and rigidity to control a larger trailer.
Cargo Capacity
After filling propane and freshwater tanks, this trailer does not have much room left for gear.
We always recommend a truck for towing, but there are times when an SUV or crossover can work. We're talking about vehicles like the Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Honda Pilot. The towing capacities can vary widely, even within the same model.
A smaller truck like the Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma might be a better choice.
Look inside the door frame for a sticker that lists the payload capacity. The vehicle needs to be able to carry the tongue weight of the trailer, passengers, and gear. For a driver, passenger, and gear, that means about 845 pounds.
