Trailer Length
Trailers of this length will not fit into many National Parks, but there are plenty of private parks just outside National Parks that will accomodate trailers under 40ft. Fifth wheels under 40ft offer a great balance of space while being manueverable and easy enough to find spots.
Cargo Capacity
This trailer has the ability to carry enough weight for most full-time families, or lots of toys for weekend adventures.
Possibly a 1/2 ton truck, but only in specific circumstances. Singles and couples with no kids or pets can get away with some 1/2 ton trucks.
For most people, a 3/4 ton truck is the way to go. Even if a half-ton would work, 3/4 ton trucks are built for towing. They have stronger axles, stiffer suspensions, and better brakes. Possible trucks include the Ford F-250, Ram 2500, and GMC 2500.
Look inside the door frame for a sticker that lists the payload capacity. The vehicle needs to be able to carry the tongue weight of the trailer, passengers, and gear. For a driver, passenger, and gear, that means about 2,882 pounds.
